Maigret and the Dead Lover Blu-Ray - Pre-order 14 December 2026

When a former French ambassador is found murdered at the Quai d'Orsay, Commissaire Maigret is called in to investigate a case steeped in discretion, old money and long-buried passion. The victim, Monsieur Berthier-Lagès, had maintained a secret fifty-year romantic correspondence with a recently widowed princess, drawing Maigret into a world of aristocratic silence, family loyalties and servants who may know far more than they reveal. As he questions the dead man's household and circles the hidden truths of two powerful families, Maigret uncovers a mystery shaped less by violence than by love, pride and social codes. Elegant, concise and quietly psychological, this is a classic Simenon detective story reimagined for modern French cinema.
