When traumatised Canadian ex-prisoner of war Bill Saunders (Lancaster) kills a pub landlord in a fight, he seeks sanctuary with a nurse, Jane (Fontaine). Soon, Jane falls in love with Bill, even as he descends further into the criminal underworld...
Directed in atmospheric fashion by Orson Welles’ protégé Norman Foster (Journey Into Fear), and scripted by Ben Maddow (Framed), Kiss the Blood Off My Hands caused controversy upon its initial release, and continues to shock with its depiction of cruelty even today.
