Ten years after making Germany Year Zero, Rossellini returned with this noir-influenced film exploring the reconstruction of Germany from a material and moral standpoint.
Starring Ingrid Bergman as Irene Wagner, the wife of a prominent German scientist, Fear explored the themes of relationships, fear and revenge. Irene and Albert have a seemingly perfect marriage, which Irene is trying to preserve following an affair. However, when Irene becomes the subject of blackmail by her lover's jealous ex-girlfriend. The plot takes a dark turn.
Released on DVD for the first time, this classic of Italian cinema is presented digitally remastered and accompanied by Rossellini's rare 1952 feature film The Machine That Kills Bad People.
