Independent cinema darling and Cannes Palme d’Or-winning filmmaker Lola Cuevas (Cruz) is approached by ageing, ailing business mogul Humberto Suárez (José Luis Gómez) to make a film that he hopes will be his legacy for the world. Intended as an adaptation of a much-loved literary work, Cuevas has more experimental intentions than some turgid piece of heritage cinema. Given carte blanche over the casting – Suárez’s only condition was that she choose ‘the best’ – she pits acclaimed but stiflingly snobbish ‘Actor’ Ivan Torres (Martínez) against handsome but superficial screen icon Felix Rivero (Banderas), believing that the inevitable tension between the two can only help the film’s dynamic. She couldn’t be more right, as the three gather for a nine-day rehearsal that sees each pushed to their wits’ end and underpins Cuevas' belief that art is suffering. Gastón Duprat and Mariano Cohn’s film differs from other movies about movies by honing in on the rehearsal period. This focuses attention more on the actors and their director, without the presence of a crew and allows for more outlandish set-ups, all in the name of ‘finding the character’. It’s clear that the leads revel in the opportunity to send themselves up. Banderas and Martínez are perfect sparring partners, their rivalry often descending into pettiness. But it’s Cruz who steals the show. With a passion as fiery as her wildly out-of-control hair, Cuevas is a force of nature – by turns maniacal, intense and wholly hilarious.

Cat is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, they find refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences.

EXTRAS

- Aqua - short film by Gints Zilbalodis

- Priorities - short film by Gints Zilbalodis

- Interactive Flow quiz

- Animatic version of Flow

- The animation of Flow - Blender Conference 2024

- Dream Cat - behind-the-scenes documentary

- Masterclass and Q&A with Gints Zilbalodis

- Oscars reaction video

- Trailers

- English SDH subtitles

Sally Potter's dazzling adaptation of Virginia Woolf's classic novel is now available on 4K UHD. Before he knows it, he is stuck with the woman's nine-year-old daughter (Yella Rottlander), with no information regarding where in Germany she lives. Arriving home, the photographer and his young charge make their way around the country in an attempt to return her to her family. Philip and Alice's bond grows stronger as he documents the way the German landscape has changed, emerging from the decades-long impact of the Second World War. It is a visually striking portrait of Germany – both its countryside, and the towns and cities the two men travel through. It is a rumination on the state of cinema, of a transformation from a classic era through to a modern, more divisive style. And it is a study of purely platonic friendship between two men. The ease Bruno and Robert quickly feel in each other’s company is a rare sight in cinema. But Wenders asks of this relationship, like so many other elements in his film, how long can such a situation last before progress forces it to move forward or come to an end? With its unhurried pace – yet moving swiftly through the three-hour running time – Kings of the Road is now regarded as one of the essential European films of the 1970s and a one of the great German films of the last 50 years. Wenders’ take on the third novel in the Ripley series – which also used an element of the plot from the second, Ripley Under Ground – is grittier. And in Dennis Hopper, Ripley is a far more unsettling figure. The actor allegedly arrived on set high as a kite and was not the easiest person to work with. In 'Nymphomaniac - Volumes I and II' (2013), when the well-read and knowledgeable bachelor Seligman (Stellan Skarsgård) finds a beaten and bruised young woman in an alleyway, he takes her home to his flat to tend to her injuries. The woman introduces herself as Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg), a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac, whose carefree and hedonistic lifestyle has led to her situation. Seligman presses Joe to tell her story and she proceeds to recount her experiences, from her childhood up to the present, where sex has been the most important thing in her life. The supporting cast includes Shia La Beouf, Christian Slater, Uma Thurman and Willem Dafoe. In 'Melancholia' (2011), the film's first act opens with the wedding of Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård): a sumptuous affair paid for by Justine's sister Claire (Gainsbourg) and her husband John (Kiefer Sutherland). However, when Justine notices a strange star in the sky, she starts behaving oddly and the wedding is ruined. The film's second act follows Justine, now extremely weak and ill, after she goes to live with her sister. As Claire and John struggle to deal with Justine's condition, astronomy buff Claire becomes increasingly concerned about a large blue planet that is threatening to collide with the earth. Charlotte Rampling and John Hurt co-star. 'Antichrist' (2009) stars Dafoe and Gainsbourg as a couple grieving the death of their young son. The mother is initially admitted to hospital following the incident, but her husband - a therapist - insists on taking her to their remote forest cabin, 'Eden', and looking after her himself. Presented in four chapters with a prologue and epilogue, the film charts the often violent and disturbing course of the couple's anguish as they immerse themselves in nature and act out their deep suffering in a sequence of increasingly bizarre and brutal rituals. Lastly, 'Breaking the Waves' (1996) is set in 1970's Scotland, and follows young Bess (Emily Watson) as she meets and falls in love with oil rig worker Jan (Skarsgård). Despite opposition, the couple marry, and when Jan returns to the rigs Bess counts the days until his return. However, their relationship is put to the test when Jan is paralysed in an accident and he urges Bess to take another lover and relate their sexual acts to him...

Collection of four romantic period dramas directed by James Ivory. 'Quartet' (1981), based on the novel by Jean Rhys, is set in bohemian 1920s Paris where Marya Zelli (Isabelle Adjani), a beautiful young novelist, finds herself destitute when her art dealer husband, Stephan (Anthony Higgins) is sent to prison for theft. A rich patron, H.J. Heidler (Alan Bates), and his artist wife, Lois (Maggie Smith), offer to take Marya in for the duration of Stephan's incarceration. Heidler, a shameless philanderer with a history of taking advantage of helpless young women, soon seduces Marya - while Lois painfully accepts his infidelity. In 'Howards End' (1992), set in 1910, sisters Helen (Helena Bonham Carter) and Margaret Schlegel (Emma Thompson) live in London with their brother, but the lease on their flat is about to expire. Margaret has recently befriended the ailing Mrs Wilcox (Vanessa Redgrave) who decides to bequeath her house, Howards End, to her. However, upon Mrs Wilcox's death her family close ranks, refusing to inform Margaret of her inheritance. When the widowed Henry Wilcox (Anthony Hopkins) begins to take a romantic interest in Margaret, however, the ensuing relationship leads to tragedy. In 'The Bostonians' (1984), set in 19th-century Boston, Verena Tarrant (Madeleine Potter) is torn between her feelings for Southern lawyer Basil Ransom (Christopher Reeve), who wants to marry her, and her passionate attachment to suffragette Olive Chancellor (Redgrave) and the fledgling Women's Movement. Finally, in 'The Europeans' (1979), set in the 1850s, Baroness Eugenia Munster (Lee Remick) travels from Europe with her brother Felix (Tim Woodward) to live with her puritanical relatives in New England, the Wentworths, who regard Eugenia and Felix as a pair of dangerous European bohemians. Felix falls in love with Gertrude Wentworth (Lisa Eichhorn) and Eugenia embarks on a romance with Robert Acton (Robin Ellis), the district's most eligible bachelor.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0583/4614/3918/files/LIME-LIGHT-MERCHANT-EUROPEANS-QUARTER-BD-1.jpg?v=1764153839
lars-von-trier-a-curzon-collection-standard-edition-pre-order-23-february-26
Lars Von Trier | A Curzon Collection - Standard Edition

This comprehensive collection features all of the provocateur’s feature films across 15 Blu-rays that span his Europe Trilogy, the Golden Heart Trilogy and Dogme 95 years right up to the present.

Known for his restless technical innovation and rebellious approach, Lars von Trier’s work has confronted taboo subjects and existential problems of the human condition with both thorny, troubled intelligence and puckish humour.
