Known for their prestigious Masters of Cinema range, Eureka! Is a boutique label well loved for their beautifully restored library of titles, which combines classics, world cinema gems, and cult favourites.
We are going to start you off today with some picks that showcase the breadth of the Eureka! catalogue, and finish up with an exclusive interview and five further watches.
Francis Ford Coppola (The Godfather) directs one of the best coming-of-age films ever made: Rumble Fish.
Against a run-down, industrial Tulsa, Oklahoma, Coppola presents a vivid portrait of troubled teenage gang leader Rusty James (Matt Dillon) as he struggles with cohorts, rival gangs, his frustrated girlfriend Patty (Diane Lane), his estranged father (Dennis Hopper), and the return of his idolised older brother The Motorcycle Boy (Mickey Rourke).
The all-star cast also includes Nicolas Cage, Chris Penn, Tom Waits, and Laurence Fishburne, and the Eureka! Blu-ray comes loaded with extras, including an audio commentary by Francis Ford Coppola audio commentary and six deleted scenes.
Martial arts megastar Jackie Chan stars in the three stunts-packed action films that make up the The Police Story Trilogy.
In the first film, “super cop” Chan Ka-Kui (Chan), goes up against a notorious crime lord in a series of escalating set-pieces that resulted in many of Jackie’s stunt team being hospitalised! The sequel is even better, and considered one of the best action films ever made, while Part 3 sees Jackie joined by superstar Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once)!

While driving eastward on Route 66, two rival car owners The Driver (singer-songwriter James Taylor) and The Mechanic (Dennis Wilson of The Beach Boys) in a souped-up, drag-racing '55 Chevy, and a middle-aged braggart (Warren Oates) in a gleaming GTO begin to race for each other's "pink slips" and the affections of the listless female hitchhiker (Laurie Bird) who joins them on the road.
The newly restored high-definition feature master is approved by director Monte Hellman himself, and Hellman also provides an audio commentary, as well as being directly involved in most of the other extras too!
Described as one of the greatest films of all time by Bong Joon-ho (Parasite), Cure is a cerebral and deeply unsettling hybrid of police procedural, serial-killer film, and horror movie that stands with The Silence of the Lambs and Se7en.
A series of murders have been committed by ordinary people who claim to have had no control over their actions, many of them having killed friends, co-workers or even their spouse. There are only two links between each crime: an X carved into the neck of each victim, and a mysterious stranger who seems to have had brief contact with the perpetrator a short period of time before each killing…
To follow these leads and end a seemingly inexplicable wave of terror, police detective Kenichi Takabe (13 Assassins) will need to put his own sanity on the line and endure a descent into hell!
The Eureka! Cure 4K UHD is the best this landmark film has ever looked and sounded, and extras include a Bong Joon-Ho appreciation, as well as expert extras from Tom Mes and Kim Newman.
This 4K UHD of Buster Keaton’s masterpiece was timed to celebrate the film’s 100th anniversary, and does absolute justice to one of the greatest comedies ever made, starring one of the best silent comedians at the absolute peak of his powers.
Western & Atlantic Railroad train engineer Johnnie (Keaton) loves two things: his sweetheart Annabelle Lee and his prized locomotive, The General. When the Civil War breaks out, Johnnie intends to enlist in the Confederate Army, but is rejected – ending his budding relationship with Annabelle.
As the war rages on, though, spies working for the Union steal Johnnie’s beloved engine and inadvertently kidnap Annabelle, leading him to doggedly pursue them both across enemy lines!
Featuring what is perhaps the most thrilling chase sequence ever committed to film, The General is a comedy classic, and the Eureka! 4K UHD comes in a deluxe package limited to 2000 copies.
